The Overton House began as an airy townhouse with great natural light and was given a heavy dose of contemporary styling, functional improvements, and statement making elements. The stylish, practical home is now undergoing additional improvements to it’s second level. Photos to come!
The open plan of the first floor is divided into living, dining, and kitchen areas, but maintains a calm, cohesive feeling throughout. The interiors are an eclectic mix of contemporary and classic elements with a touch of global influence. Custom shelving in the dining room extends into the living space where it incorporates beautiful, movable screens so owners’ can adjust which areas are shown off and which they’d rather tuck away. Interesting and welcoming textures are brought into the space by a large natural fiber rug, classically patterned grasscloth wall coverings, and contemporary pattered wallpaper. Dark grey cabinets, a mirrored backsplash, and large island modernize and add drama to the kitchen space. Unexpected elements, such as the dining room pendant light and the pop of gold pattern in the powder room, keep the styling fresh and contemporary.
