Hilltop House Contemporary

This 1950’s daylight ranch was transformed from a dark, dated space into an airy, contemporary home. Low ceilings, a small kitchen, and crowded rooms gave way to vaulted ceilings, an open floor plan, and elegant, eye-catching wallpapers. Lynne Parker Designs first maximized the houses layout but raising ceiling heights in living room and lofting bedroom and bathroom ceilings.

The living spaces feature floor-to-ceiling, windows and warm, wide plank, white oak floors. The kitchen is anchored round a large, reclaimed wooden farm table and two Lynne Parker Designs original pendant lights. An L-shape configuration provides ample space for the big six – fridge, ovens, sink, dishwasher, stovetop, and microwave. Oak flat panel cabinets were painted black so that the grain shows through to provide contrast against the carrara countertops and backsplash. Large, gold custom made hardware from Baldwin Hardware on cabinets and other gold accents add a contemporary punch to the space. Kitchen has high end appliances – Sub Zero fridge, Fisher and Paykel drawer dishwasher, Blue Star Gas Cooktop and Dornbracht Faucet.

A small bedroom was converted into a luxurious master bathroom with heated herringbone carrara floors, a dramatic Victoria + Alfred Napoli tub, and a large walk-in shower. Double French doors were added to bring in light and custom black shutters create architecture and combine with the gallery white walls to give the space a clean, crisp finish. Double vanities give great space for two people and large mirrors with cut out sconces play up the scale of the room. Bedroom features custom drapes with Schumacher black linen and leather fabric.

An extra 500 square feet was added to house with a converted crawl space into a wonderful laundry room. An additional bathroom was updated with Hans Grohe faucets and carrara marble. All closets were customized with California Closets.
